With the FIFA World Cup rapidly approaching, the Council and South Yorkshire Police would like to know what plans, if any Doncaster Leciesees have for staging events or promotions during this period particularly matches involving England.
For example, do you plan to show matches on large screens (either inside or outside – including the erection of temporary structures such as marquees), alter your opening hours, offer drinks promotions (bearing in mind no irresponsible drinks promotions should take place) or entertainment in order to attract and retain custom.
You are advised to check your premises licence held under the Licensing Act 2003 including plans of the premises to ensure that you are covered to provide the licensable activities that you wish to provide.
Both the Council and South Yorkshire Police are working very closely together to ensure that you are able to enjoy the benefits of the additional custom that such a large event may bring to your premises and are advising that the following recommendations and safeguards are put in place during the screening of matches, particularly those involving England.
In order that the authorities can monitor premises effectively they would be grateful if licensees could complete the attached questionnaire and return it to the Licensing Office as soon as possible so that the information can be disseminated to the local Safer Neighbourhood Team that covers your area.
