Make it a night to remember, not one to forget, is the message

‘THINK safe – drink safe’ – that’s the message behind a Christmas safety campaign aimed at getting Doncaster folk to have a night to remember, not one to forget.

The Safer Doncaster Partnership has joined forces with Doncaster Best Bar None and Doncaster Primary Care Trust to roll-out an awareness raising campaign in local pubs and clubs.

The campaign poster asks the question ‘how many is too many?’ and features an image of a forlorn Father Christmas looking like he’s had one too many. Alongside are the numbers one to eight, each representing a pint. Each pint has a word next to it, starting off with ‘relaxed’ alongside number one and ‘arrested?’ adjacent to number eight.

Helen Conroy, Doncaster Primary Care Trust’s Substance Misuse Co-ordinator, said: “The campaign will use posters and beer mats to promote safer drinking messages over the festive period. Best Bar None is an ideal partner as its members have all signed up to promote the sensible management and running of licensed premises to make them more attractive and welcoming to customers.”

The campaign will also be shown on the television screens in the Frenchgate Centre.
